We’re proud to announce the addition of Chip Foose, one of the most recognizable names and faces in the automotive industry, to the MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust family.
Foose, who’s had a relatively short (in comparison to others) career in the automotive design world, has already managed to win over millions of fans with his award winning designs and builds showcased worldwide.
Getting his start around the same time many of us were playing video games and doing our homework, Chip was working in his father’s shop where he was in charge of project design. After several years in and around his dad’s shop and other builds, Foose chose to attend the Art Center where he majored in automotive product design and graduated with honors in 1990.
Around the time of graduation, Chip held several jobs where he was in
charge of conceptualizing and fabricating all sorts of
projects including street rods, studio vehicles and show cars for quite a few Hollywood feature films. Towards the end of 1990, after graduation, Foose was lead in the direction of Boyd Coddington, of Hot Rods by Boyd, and soon made his way up the ranks ending up as the President of the company several years later.
After a five-plus year stint at Boyd’s, Chip and his wife Lynne figured it was time to start something on their own and opened up Foose Design in Huntington Beach, CA which offered model making, illustrations, complete builds and a long list of other tasks.
In addition to the new shop opening and other projects Chip was working on, his list of accomplishments is second to

Good Guys Trendsetter Award, a licensing deal with MHT Luxury Alloys to Produce his own Foose Wheels line, his own television show, Overhaulin’ on TLC, and inductions into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame (the youngest ever,) the Darryl Starbird Rod and Custom Hall of Fame, the San Francisco Rod and Custom Hall of Fame, and the Grand National Roadster Hall of Fame you can say that Chip Foose has done more than proven himself in his relatively short time in the business.
We’re thrilled to have Chip Foose as part of the MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust family and we look forward to seeing what the two will produce in the near future, stay tuned!
